These Terms govern your use of Preflight Alpha(“we,” “us”) and the aircraft history reports and related services we provide. By using the site or purchasing a report, you agree to these Terms.
What we provide
Preflight Alpha compiles publicly available U.S. government records — FAA aircraft registration, NTSB accident and incident data, FAA Service Difficulty Reports, and Federal Register airworthiness directives — into a single report for a given aircraft registration (tail number).
Decision support only — not an airworthiness determination
Reports are for informational and decision-support purposes only. They are notan airworthiness determination, an appraisal, a title or lien search, or a substitute for a review of the aircraft’s maintenance logbooks and a pre-purchase inspection by a qualified, certificated mechanic. Airworthiness directives are matched at the manufacturer and type level and are candidates to verify, not a determination that a given directive applies to or has been complied with on a specific aircraft. You are solely responsible for verifying any information before relying on it.
Not affiliated with the FAA or NTSB
Preflight Alpha is an independent service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Transportation Safety Board, or any government agency.
Data accuracy and availability
Reports reflect only what was reported to and published by the source agencies within the coverage windows shown in each report. Public records may be incomplete, delayed, or contain errors, and the absence of a record is not proof that no event occurred. Information is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of accuracy or completeness.
Payments and credits
Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown at checkout. A purchase grants one or more report credits; each credit unlocks the full report for one aircraft. Because reports are delivered digitally and immediately, purchases are generally non-refundable — if you experience a problem with a report, contact us at support@preflightalpha.com and we will work to make it right.
Acceptable use
You may use reports for your own aircraft-purchase or evaluation decisions. You may not scrape, bulk-download, resell, or redistribute the data or reports, or use automated means to access the service beyond ordinary use, without our written permission.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Preflight Alpha is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any decision made in reliance on a report. Our total liability for any claim relating to a report will not exceed the amount you paid for that report. [Attorney to finalize the limitation, disclaimer, and indemnification language.]
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
